Holding On
Oh, but I am not about death.
I am not about rejection or letting go.
I want to open my soul like a pair
of arms and embrace it all–
the beauties of this world–
to gather them in like lovers
or little lambs.
To hold on, to hold on,
to the sun-kissed tiger lilies,
to the sky-colored jays,
to the chartreuse tresses
of willows in the wind,
to their pleasurable dance
and sway.
Hold on to the numinous hosts
of clouds piled high,
to the rushing streams that babble
and slide over root and stone,
to the moon and stars that illuminate
night’s celestial dome.
I want to hold on to everything.
I want to embrace earth’s heaven
as my home.
I want to hug and love the divinity I see
and never let God go.
How beautiful!!! I love it!!
