Apology of a missile

I didn’t do it, I was provoked. They started it, in 1948, I believe. 
Then I calmed down. I thought I was a deterrent.

 They would have understood. In the end, I have nothing to do with it.
They expanded: from one tile, they took over the entire house. 

They didn’t invade it, they occupied it.
 And that’s where the difference lies. And the others?
 They remained with one tile. Different from theirs, but still a tile.

I am intelligent. I am the missile. 

It doesn’t matter to me who fires me. I often defend the indefensible.
If the love professed by you humans, by all of you, were not a dead word, 
without a worthy burial, in your laws, in your constitutions, even at the UN, 

I wouldn’t even exist in children’s nightmares.

Instead, here I am, the antonym of progress.
 I am the spokesperson for the proof of your stupidity. 

I don’t breathe, but do you?

I was manufactured to destroy myself. 

I can’t drink hemlock, otherwise, I would have already solved the puzzle.
Can one be so stubborn as to create a state in a place where neighbors hate you regardless?
 Fortunately, you are very greedy, so my friends and I continue to work. So to speak.

We have many employers. Opportunities abound. 
However, we thank our number 1 client: religion.

 Your hatred arises from these alleged faiths. The biggest scam before rock’n’roll.

 The most subtle paradox: to have peace, we need war. 
Otherwise, where do you find the money to manufacture us?
They told me about one of your prophets.

 I won’t tell you the name because I wouldn’t want to receive a blasphemy lawsuit. 

This prophet never spoke about how essential wickedness was for the spirit,
 but you read, when you have time to do so, what you want and adapt it to your fears.
Years of so-called evolution, and your brain works like mine: 0 and 1.

 No other option.

There is a city where they often shoot at us. One of the holiest.
 Don’t you see the contradiction, or are you really so blind?
