I have been doing a lot of dishes.

The sink faces away

from the window.

We cook all of our meals now.

The stove faces away

from the window.

Ohio has never been

about the excesses. We barely

had a town where I grew up.

My past faces away

from the window. Look at my hands.

They’ve always been this raw.
